  Innovation in Arnis Sparring Sticks     One of the characteristics of sports arnis is the use of padded sticks, this is a fighting tool that is used in free sparring, usually made of a thin rattan stick inserted into a synthetic material to serve as a cushion, and covered with synthetic fabric.   PUGAY SA ARNIS   Maaga palang ng 5:00 AM naglalakad na kami ng daughter ko papunta sa isang public elementary school para sa meet up ng mga players ng iba’t ibang sports na lalahok sa 2024 Division Meet para sa Palarong Pambansa. Nang magkita kita ang mga bata particular ang mga players ng sports arnis ay nagbigay sila ng pagpupugay sa mga magulang, coaches, at kapwa atleta. “Handa sa Pagpugay……Pugay….Po!” ito ang kanilang paraan ng pagpupugay. Nakakatuwang tignan, mga students na Grade 5 and 6, na nagsasagawa ng isang bahagi ng arnis na naging kabilang ako sa pagsasakonsepto at pagpapasimula. Ito ang ‘PUGAY’ sa arnis, na kapareho ng bow of salutation sa maraming martial arts. Pagpapakita ito ng paggalang sa mga nagturo, kasama sa pagsasanay, at maging sa kalaban sa paligsahan.   November 30, 2024 Cavite Esgrimistas Gathering Rule Sets     Padded Stick Hard Contact Sparring   Description T his competition format is characterized by two escrima players sparring using padded sticks and protective gear. Both try to outmaneuver the other by gaining a clear attack or counter-attack without being hit. The fight continues unless stopped by the referee.     Duration of the Bout   The match consists of three rounds of 2 minutes with 1-minute rest intervals.   Equipment and Protective Gear A padded stick with a length of 30 inches, one inch thick will be used. Players are required to wear protective gear provided by the organizers. This includes a head/face mask, body vest, arms and hands protective gear, and knee and shin protective gear.
